Wacht even: Het apparaat dat je laat zien in de schermafdruk is er zo een zoals ik heb. Hoe komt die bij Poorten te staan? Heb je echt zo'n kabel?
Want een relaiskaart is heel wat anders dan een USB-naar-Serieel kabel.
Zie verder dat in Apparaatbeheer er een uitroepteken bij staat, oftewel: Hij start niet. Dat is doorgaans een driverprobleem. Heb je inderdaad een USB-naar-Serieel kabel van Prolific/Icidu/Velleman/Sweex/etc. én aangesloten aan je pc, dan kan ik je evt. wel gidsen naar drivers als je vermeldt welke versie Windows je hebt en of die 32-bits of 64-bits is.
Toevoeging: Er zijn 'genepte' Prolific chips in omloop bij sommige leveranciers
(*) (Velleman komt bij me op) die zich
voordoen als Prolific chips, maar problemen geven bij het starten ervan (dus dat uitroepteken tonen in Apparaatbeheer).
De Prolific drivers werken dan ook niet op die 'genepte' chips en ook niet de drivers die via Microsoft beschikbaar zijn. Stel dat jouw apparaat/kabel wél een echte Prolific chip betreft, dan zou het genoeg moeten zijn om erop te dubbelklikken in Apparaatbeheer, tabblad Stuurprogramma te klikken en te klikken op "Stuurprogramma bijwerken" en dan automatisch "op Internet" (dus bij Microsoft) een nieuwere driver op te halen. Overigens moet de Hardware ID dan wel USB\VID_067B&PID_2303 of USB\VID_067B&PID_2304 zijn, want Prolific PL-2303HXA en PL-2303X chips worden niet (meer) ondersteund. Welke chip er in zit (hopelijk een echte Prolific chip en geen PL-2303HXA of PL-2303X) kun je m.b.v.
PL2303_CheckChipVersion_v1006.zip achterhalen maar dan hij wel al werken.
