Answer

This FAQ will guide you through an uninstall and reinstall of the Pinnacle Studio 11 software. There are three sections. Section 1 should cover most uninstall and reinstall needs. Section 2 covers some problems the basic uninstall does not. Section 3 has instructions on how to do an install using safe mode for cases where the software install is being problematic.

Section 1

Basic uninstall and reinstall steps.

Go to Start then Control Panel.
In Windows XP click on Add or Remove Programs. In Windows Vista click on Programs – Uninstall a program.
Select and uninstall any Studio11 patches.
Now select Studio 11 and click the Change/Remove button (or Uninstall button in Vista). Follow any on-screen instructions to uninstall this software.
Insert your Studio 11 disc into your DVD drive. The DVD should auto-launch. If it does not, use Windows Explorer to browse to the DVD. Look In the Setup folder, click on the setup.exe file to begin the installation of Studio 11.
Install the latest patch.

Section 2

If the above steps fail, or you have the same problem in Studio Version 11 after the uninstall and reinstall procedure, try the following steps:

Advanced uninstall and reinstall steps.

Download Regdelete from our site here. Save it to a location like the desktop.
Run Regdelete by double-clicking the icon on the desktop (or wherever you saved it)
In the pull down box choose "Studio 11" and hit the clean button. You can then close the window.
Delete the Studio 11 folder. By default the location for this is C:\Program Files\Pinnacle\Studio 11.
Run RegDelete again, this time select User registration and activation Data.
Do a search for Pixie. If it finds a Pixie folder, make a copy of it, and then delete it.
Insert your Studio 11 DVD into your DVD drive. The DVD should auto launch. If it does not, use Windows Explorer to browse to the disc. In the Setup folder, click on the setup.exe file to begin the installation of Studio 11.
Install the latest patch.

Section 3

Use this section if you are having problems on Step 11, 12 or crashing on install.

Double click on my computer.
Right click on the Drive the Studio 11 DVD is in, and choose explore.
In the window showing the content of the disc, go to edit > select all.
