Mac: schermdelen via berichten app

Via de berichten app op een mac kan je schermdeling doen.
Ik probeer te achterhalen of deze schermdeling encryptie heeft, net zoals imessage / berichten, maar ik vind ook in het engels alleen info hierover over een andere manier van schermdeling. Niet die via berichten.
Weet iemand hier wat over?

If you're using the Screen Sharing app on macOS 10.7 (Lion) or earlier to connect with a username/password, the exchange of credentials as well as keypresses and mouse moves are encrypted by default. However the actual screen display (i.e. the graphical content) is not. You can enable full encryption from the Preferences menu in the Screen Sharing app.

Dankje, die kwam ik inderdaad ook tegen, maar de screen sharing app is anders en geloof ik alleen voor lokaal netwerk? Ik bedoel screen sharing via berichten app.

Verwarrend... het heet daar net zo

Screen Sharing app

Dit is ook voor extern.. .waarom zou je intern zo sterk willen encrypten?
Ze vergelijken het met VNC voor extern die je dan in bijv een VPN tunnel kunt uitvoeren.

[FONT=&amp]I found the link to contact Apple to ask for sure, and the representative said that if SSL is selected for the account (Google Talk) for instance, then the messaging and the screen sharing would both be encrypted. The representative said that he uses that feature for work and has the "Use SSL" option enabled thus encrypting the traffic.
So to recap what I've learned. As it stands, to screen share on a Mac, you can:

Use the Messages App

But you have to add an account (Preferences > Accounts) like AIM, Jabber, Google Talk*

On the account "Server Settings" tab, make sure that "Use SSL is an option and encrypted

Bonjour is listed in the accounts, but works only on your local network (not across the Internet)

Chat and screen sharing are encrypted if the "Use SSL" option is enabled.

Deze zag ik ook inderdaad. Die komt uit 2014 en dat was nog in de tijd dat je een account moest toevoegen om schermdeling uit te voeren, en dan via dat account use ssl aanvinken. Die optie is er nu niet meer (of ik zie het iig niet).

Tip: Vermeld een volgende keer svp ales wat je gedaan hebt wat er over die berichten gaat te vermelden.... anders zitten de helpers dubbelwerk te doen...

In het laten werken van dit via iMessage vind ik via de link onder punt 5 zoals je het ook verwacht..

Zorg dat de normale screen sharing app encrypted werkt en als dan IMessage er gebruik van maakt.... dan werkt dat daaronder ook encrypted.

Wrs vind je daarom zo weinig omdat dit DE manier is om het te doen.... iMessage zelf heeft geen "eigen/aparte " screen sharing maar maakt gebruik wat er al is.

Ja, dat had ik ook al geplaatst in mijn eerste bericht? Dat ik over die andere manier van schermdeling wel wat vond, maar dat het niet hetzelfde is als via berichten. Sorry als het niet duidelijk was.

Die apple discussie uit 2014 kwam ik pas later tegen.

Tnx voor je tip contact met apple. Ik zie een telefoonnr staan op apple website, kan je dit gewoon bellen? Hier zitten vast kosten aan (‘per incident’) maar ik zie nergens wat die kosten zijn of hoe je ze moet betalen. Ik probeer daar eerst achter te komen voor ikbel.

Ah, dankje voor je toevoging! Zeker interessant. Nu alleen nog even kijken hoe ik de gewone manier kan encrypten of dat dit al standaard aan staat.

Tis toch wel handig om info te blijven updaten... anders wordt er echt dubbel werk gedaan..... vind het ook een soort positieve geste richting de helpers... wij zien dat niet in onze glazen bol.....

Create an ssh-keygen key pair for your account

Copy your $HOME/.ssh/*.pub file to the Mac or other system that will be making the Screen Sharing connectionAppend the contents of the .pub file to that user's $HOME/.ssh/authentication_keys file. That user is now allowed to ssh securely into your Mac.

Now make an ssh connection to your Macssh -p 32265 -L 5922:localhost:5900 username@your.routers.ip.address

Now make your screen sharing connectionFinder -> Go -> Connect to server -> vnc://username@localhost:5922

Ben ik nu juist, als ik de conclusie trek dat screen sharing met imessage / berichten app dus on default encrypted is, omdat het een automatisch proces is gelijk aan:

Schermdeling op de Mac, keuze genoeg, hoe je mensen toch op afstand kunt helpen met Schermdeling via de iMessage-app en via VNC.

Dat rijtje overlapt grotendeel het rijtje wat in de link boven staat. Waar van ik zelf even Teamviewer uitgelicht had, maar das persoonlijk

Als je doet wat er gevraagd is in die link, het hele verhaal dus na die zin, dan zou het encrypted moeten zijn.

PS: Bij Teamviewer (TV) krijg je automatisch de encryptie erbij en TV werkt ook iets anders, er wordt een drie hoek verbinding op gezet. Je hoeft zelf geen VNC server oid op te zetten en je hebt ook geen port forwarding nodig.
Apple heeft voor TV er nog een schepje boven op gedaan qua security, lees goed door als het je interesseert.

Dat dit suggereerde dat indien je beide met apple id bent ingelogd, en via deze wijze screen sharing doet (dus messages), dat het dan encrypted is?

Haha, ja die tekst zie ik ook. Maar ik dacht dat dat een derde optie was ofzo, of iig hoe krijg je VNC manier secure.
Bij deze

Haalde ik uit dat gebruik van screen sharing app in recente macOS, en je gebruikt een appleID + ww, dat alles dan encrypted is: toetsaanslagen, muisbewegingen én beeld.
En daarom dacht ik, aangezien screen sharing via messages blijkbaar hetzelfde is (en beide zijn ingelogd met apple id), dan valt het onder dat zonder dat je wat met poorten ed moet doen.

Ik probeer het inderdaad goed uit te zoeken, en ben ook heel blij dat je zo mee denkt!
