Ad-Watch wil niet starten..

Hallo iedereen!,

Ten eerste, bedankt dat ik mee mag doen :)

Ik heb een vervelend probleem met Ad-Aware 2007 Plus; ik heb een 3-jarige licentie gekocht en heb na de invoering van een serienummer een stap van de Free versie naar de Plus versie gemaakt.
Echter, als ik Ad-Watch wil starten dan krijg ik de melding dat dat niet beschikbaar is in de Free versie.

Ik hoop dat iemand een oplossing weet, want in Windows opnieuw installeren heb ik eigenlijk geen zin ;)

Onderstaande correspondentie heb ik met de helpdesk van Lavasoft gevoerd:

Hi Erica,
Thank you for your email.

Once the software is activated with the serial number sent at the time
of purchase
after restarting the software the plus/pro version will open.

The real time protection can be started by starting the Ad-Watch program.
Ad-Aware 2007 program click on Ad-Watch and start.

If the Ad-Watch feature is failing to start it could be a problem with a
corrupt file in the registry from a previous installation,
that only recognizes the software as the free edition.

Please try this solution.

1) Open Explorer and locate the folder where you have installed Ad-Aware
2007.
(Usually C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007) or the Ad-Watch2007
shortcut on your desktop.

2) Right-click the Ad-Watch2007 file.

3) Select the 'Run as...' option.

4) Select 'The following user' option.

5) Select the Administrator user profile and type the login password.

6) Click 'Ok'.

This should start Ad-Watch and activate it.

The next time you need to start Ad-Watch you will not need to redo the
instructions above.
Just open it from inside Ad-Aware 2007 or double-click the Ad-Watch2007
shortcut/file.

Mischien als je het serienummer noteert en dan alles verwijderd,dan de adaware 2007 plus opnieuw download en installeerd en serienummer ingeeft dat ie dan werkt.

maar wacht even wat de anderen ervan vinden want zou niet willen dat het helemaal niet meer werkt.

Ik weet niet of het installatiebestand nog hebt of opnieuw kunt downloaden, maar als dat het geval is zou ik idd het helemaal verwijderen en weer opnieuw installeren.

Ik heb inderdaad geuninstalled en weer geinstalled; beide zonder succes.

I did what you described and I uninstalled and reinstalled Ad-Aware again, w/o success :(
Previously I had Ad-Aware Personal SE 2004 installed.
Recently I purchased Registry Fix, but I don't have any other problems with it.

I purchased Ad-Aware's license to use Ad-Watch and I hope there's a solution :)

download en installeer en draai eens het programma ccleaner en laat die je pc eens opschonen.
Kan goed dat er een oud bestandje tegen werkt.

even afvinken tijdens installeren dat je de yahoo toolbaar niet installeert.

Ik gebruik het zelf niet maar het is wel vreemd, maar je hebt er voor betaald en dus ook recht op service van hun.
Ik hoop dat je het met John kunt oplossen, of misschien heeft een ‘gebruiker’ hier nog een idee om het op te lossen.

Hoi! Daar was ik weer..
Heb alles weer gedeinstalleerd en met CCleaner alles daarna opgeschoond.
Het probleem is er echter nog steeds :(
Ik ben bang dat ik een clean install van Windows moet doen en daardoor heb ik goed de pest aan dat hele Lavasoft-gebeuren gekregen..

Je zou nog kunnen proberen om, als er bepaalde programma’s op de achtergrond draaien, zoals Anti-virus, anti-spyware of firewall, die even uit te schakelen. Of het op onderstaande manier te installeren.

- Ga via "Start" naar "Uitvoeren".
- Type hier "msconfig" en klik op "OK".
- Kies op het tabblad "Algemeen" voor "Selectief opstarten".
- Verwijder bij alle opties die er komen te staan de vinkjes behalve bij "Systeem services in het geheugen laden".
- Ga naar het tabblad "Services".
- Plaats een vinkje in het selectievakje voor "Alle Microsoft-services verbergen".
- Klik op de knop "Alles uitschakelen".
- Klik op "OK" en herstart de computer.
- Installeer nu Ad-Aware……, na de installatie niet de direct de computer herstarten (vinkje weghalen) maar eerst,
- in "msconfig" de veranderingen weer ongedaan maken door voor "Normaal opstarten" te kiezen.
- Dan de computer opnieuw opstarten.

I exactly followed the steps you told me to take; w/o result.
A few weeks ago I purchased Registry Fix which is a good one and today I downloaded CCleaner and I used these two to clean the registry as you asked me to.
After the 'clean' install of Ad-Aware 2007 I noticed that it was still the Plus version when started from the desktop; when started from the Lavasoft folder and use 'Run as...' it says it's the Free version/ when then entering the serial and start Ad-Aware the same way; it won't start.
I tried all possible combinations.. w/o success. There still has to be something in the registry somewhere, isn't it?

Hallo!

Bij deze even het eindresultaat; van Lavasoft een expiry tool opgestuurd gekregen, zodat na toepassing daarvan de Plus versie verlopen zou zijn, ik het nieuw toegekende serienummer gebruiken kon enzovoort.
Mijn versie is nog steeds de Plus versie en in een clean install heb ik geen zin, waardoor ik nu gebruik maak van de door Lavasoft aangeboden refund.
