Ik heb een AsRock K7VT4A Pro moederbord en moet deze voor verscheidene redenen (ga dat niet allemaal uitleggen) updaten (flashen).
Nu heb ik veel gelezen over een Boot floppy enz. dat is allemaal gelukt alleen als ik van de site (van AsRock) een BIOS update download krijg ik 2 bestanden.. een .exe bestand en een .xx bestand (cijfer, cijfer)
Terwijl ik overal lees dat het een .exe en een .bin bestand moet zijn
Als ik update versie 1.80 neem dan is de file een .80 file en als ik versie 1.30 neem dan is het een .30 file????
En als ik hem via F11 (boot menu) open kom ik dus in een soort van verkenner (heel ouderwets) maar heeft niet zoveel weg van het zo bekende A:\
Zo lukt het me dus niet om te updaten
Dit staat op de AsRock site:
Create a bootable system floppy disk.
Download an updated ASRock BIOS file (WinZip format with .zip file extension) from the web site, unzip the BIOS file and save both ASRFLASH.EXE utility and BIOS file to the disk you created in step 1.
Boot from the disk you created in step 2.
At the "A:\" prompt, type ASRFLASH, hit space bar once, and type BIOS file name then press <Enter>. For example: A:\ASRFLASH K7S41GX2.00 <Enter> then you will see a message "Please wait for BIOS loading ROM".
After 30 seconds, you will see the message "Flash ROM Update Completed - Pass", then you have finished upgrading the BIOS.
After finishing upgrading the BIOS, please remove the floppy disk. Restart your system and press <F2> to enter the BIOS setup utility during boot up.
In Exit menu, please select "Load Default Settings" and press <Enter> to continue.
Select "Exit Saving Changes" and press <Enter> to exit the BIOS setup utility.
Now, system is booting up with new BIOS.
Ik snap ook niet of ik nu alleen die 2 files erop moet zetten en dan gewoon naar boot menu moet gaan?
zou iemand hier me kunnen helpen?
