Bootloader werkt niet meer

Ik heb op mijn laptop eerst Windows 7 geinstalleerd. Op een later moment Ubuntu IN Windows 7 geinstalleerd. Dan houd ik de Windows 7 bootmanager met daarbij een extra optie; Ubuntu. Nu heb ik in Ubuntu, Ubuntu geupgrade naar een nieuwe versie.

Grub heeft zichzelf daarbij over de Windows Loader heen geschreven. MEt andere woorden, mijn Windows 7 kan ik op die manier niet meer starten. Omdat Ubuntu bij vlagen behoorlijk vervelend kan zijn, kan ik ook Ubuntu niet op starten. Ik krijg nu de melding 'no such device' met een commando lijn van grub ('grub rescue>').

Hoe krijg ik de boot manager van Windows 7 weer terug??
Ik heb het geprobeerd met de Windows 7 DVD. Deze herkent het probleem maar weigert zijn bootmanager te repareren. Hij doet dan net alsof hij hem repareert, maar bij de herstart krijg ik toch die grub weer.

Ik heb tevens de Hiren's boot CD gedownload en op een schijfje gebrand, ik weet echter niet welke optie ik dan nodig heb. Elke hulp zal op prijs worden gesteld!

Hallo, je bootloader kan hierdoor inderdaad corrupt zijn geraakt.
Probeerde je een dual boot te maken? (essentieel of niet)
of probeer je af en toe dingen uit in Linux Ubuntu?

-Anders kan je misschien beter
de Windows 7 herinstalleren, Virtualbox installeren ( een gratis virtualisatie software ) en daar de Linux ubuntu installeren. dan heb je dus ook linux ubuntu(virtualbox) in Windows 7.

-Met Mini XP GUI op Hirens kun je je bestanden/documenten van je c:\ op een externe hdd kopieren zodat er geen bestanden verloren gaan.

Mocht je toch een core dual boot willen maken,
zorg dan voor 2 verschillende partities 1x Win 7, 1x Ubuntu
Helaas is de bootloader van win7 en ubuntu niet compatible met elkaar.

Heeft dit geholpen laat het weten.

Ik heb inderdaad een dual boot proberen te maken en dat is ook prima gelukt! Ubuntu doet dit namelijk automatisch tijdens het installeren wanneer je de ubuntu installer vanuit Windows start. Dit werkte allemaal prima.

Totdat ik besloot Ubuntu 10.10 te upgraden naar de nieuwe 11.04, op dat moment heeft de Grub loader de Windows loader overschreven waardoor slechts de mogelijkheid overblijft Ubuntu te starten.

Het herinstalleren van Windows geniet niet mijn voorkeur gezien de vele belangrijke programma's en instellingen op deze school-laptop!

Op het moment laat ik die optie dus nog even links liggen! In ieder geval bedankt voor de snelle reactie!!

Voer achter de prompt de volgende commando's in, steeds gevolgd door " enter "

chkdsk /r

fixboot

fixmbr

exit

2.Press a key when you are prompted.
3.Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then clickNext.
4.Click Repair your computer.
5.Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
6.In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
7.Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.
Note To start the computer from the Windows Vista or Windows 7 DVD, the computer must be configured to start from the DVD drive. For more information about how to configure the computer to start from the DVD drive, see the documentation that is included with the computer or contact the computer manufacturer.

Bootrec.exe options
The Bootrec.exe tool supports the following options. Use the option that is appropriate for your situation.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup issue, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. By doing this, you make sure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the Windows RE command prompt:
•bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup
•c:
•cd boot
•attrib bcd -s -h -r
•ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
•bootrec /RebuildBcd
/FixMbr
The /FixMbr option writes a Windows 7 or Windows Vista-compatible MBR to the system partition. This option does not overwrite the existing partition table. Use this option when you must resolve MBR corruption issues, or when you have to remove non-standard code from the MBR.
/FixBoot
The /FixBoot option writes a new boot sector to the system partition by using a boot sector that is compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7. Use this option if one of the following conditions is true:
•The boot sector has been replaced with a non-standard Windows Vista or Windows 7 boot sector.
•The boot sector is damaged.
•An earlier Windows operating system has been installed after Windows Vista or Windows 7 was installed. In this scenario, the computer starts by using Windows NT Loader (NTLDR) instead of Windows Boot Manager (Bootmgr.exe).

Heb eerst Fixboot laten lopen, daarna fixmbr!
