Alsjeblieft:
If you're running Windows XP, converting your FAT16 or FAT32 partition to NTFS will provide advanced performance, security, and reliability to your hard drive's file system. Be aware however that the conversion process is one way (once you convert you can't go back!).
Here is the procedure for converting your file system to NTFS:
Backup your data. This is by far the most important step, especially if you have data on your hard drive that cannot be easily replaced.
The conversion process almost always completes successfully, but if you encounter one of the rare instances when it doesn't, it might just ruin your entire day.
Click Start
Click All Programs
Click Command Prompt
Type convert drive letter: /fs:ntfs
where drive letter is the designation for the drive to be converted
Enter the volume label when prompted to do so
After the conversion process has been completed, you'll get this message: Conversion complete
Exit the command prompt window.
