Partition Magic Error #27

Hallo,

Ik moet bij een vriend van mij een partitie aanmaken,
maar als ik dit doe (met PM 8.0) krijg ik de error #27.
Ik heb op het internet opgezocht wat dit is ik kan niets vindne op de site van powerquest (Symantec) en op google kon ik alleen vindne dat het iig aan de HDD zelf ligt.

Weet iemand of dit te verhelpen is of dat hij gewoon de HDD terug moet brengen bij Alternate, de HDD is nog een paar maanden oud dus hijs niet versleten oid...

hier wordt error 27 wel genoemd.

Eh... je moet op die pagina zoeken naar error 27, dan krijg je resultaten.

Op de site staat de foutmelding ook niet..wel die error 27 maar niet die ik zoek.
Bij de foutmelding van mij staat:

Error 27 Cannot_lock_drive

Als je Google op Error 27 cannot lock drive (dus zonder underscores) laat zoeken krijg je enige hits.

Een aantal opties die ik tegenkwam:


1. Remove the Page File.

If there is a page file on the volume, define a page file of sufficient size on another volume and reboot the computer.
2. If you were running Microsoft Mail and or Schedule+, start Mail and click Exit and Sign Out on the File menu.

Microsoft Mail and/or Schedule+ have hidden processes that run in the background.
3. If you run a Systems Management Server client, close the two hidden Systems Management Server processes: Appctl32 and Pcmwin32.

Use Kill.exe from the Psstools directory on the Systems Management Server CD, or Process Viewer from the Windows NT Resource Kit to terminate the processes.
4. If you log on to the machine with any logon script containing any Systems Management Server batch file, then remove the batch file from the logon script and log on again before starting the regeneration.
5. If the error occurs when you try to delete a partition or regenerate a stripe set with parity, do the following:a. Start the Disk Administrator.
b. On the Tools menu, click Assign Drive Letter, and then click "Do not assign a drive letter".
c. Click OK. Click Partition on the menu and then select Commit Changes Now.
d. Exit Disk Administrator, reboot the system, and then try to delete the partition or regenerate the stripe set with parity.


Het komt er in het kort op neer, dat er op de HDD een bestand staat wat constant in gebruik is door een andere applicatie en als je dat kan stoppen moet je verder komen.

Ik kreeg laatst dezelfde melding ih heb het volgende gevonden uitgevoerd en het was opgelost.

Error 27: "Cannot lock drive" while running PQIDeploy under WinPE

Situation:
While running PQIDeploy under Windows PE, you see the message "Error 27: Cannot lock drive." You may also see error messages 29 or 702 associated with the Error 27 message.

Solution:
To work around this problem, use the DISKPART utility to force a dismount of the volume that you want to image. By forcing a volume dismount, all files kept open by WinPE are closed, thus enabling PQIDeploy to gain exclusive access to the volume. This measure is not normally necessary to image a volume under WinPE; it is only needed when Error 27 occurs.

To dismount a volume using DISKPART

At the WinPE command prompt, type: DISKPART
At the DISKPART prompt, type SELECT DISK <disk number> and press Enter.
Replace <disk number> with the appropriate zero-based number assigned to the target drive.
Type SELECT PARTITION <partition number> and press Enter.
Replace <disk number> with the appropriate one-based number assigned to the target partition.
Type REMOVE and press Enter.
You should see a message indicating whether the operation was successful.
To quit DISKPART, type EXIT and press Enter.

If the operation is not successful or if Error 27 still occurs, WinPE has refused to dismount the volume. This can happen if a process is running that WinPE considers critical and that requires the volume remain mounted. If this occurs, try rebooting WinPE. Make sure you do not perform any command line operations that access the volume you need to image. You can also try opening a new command window in WinPE, and then running the imaging operation from there. To open a new WinPE command window, type: START CMD



Technical Information:
This error may occur when you run the 32-bit version of PQIDeploy after booting to a WinPE bootable CD. The error occurs because PQIDeploy is not able to "lock" a drive (that is, gain exclusive access to a drive), which indicates that WinPE has (or thinks it has) open files on the volume.
