PC loopt steeds weer vast

Sinds een paar dagen loopt mijn pc steed opnieuw vast, maar waarom??

1. Hij loopt vast zonder zichtbare aanleiding
* gewoon als hij op de screensaver staat
* tijdens opstarten als de desktop verschijnt (3x)
vandaag
2. Hij doet dan helemaal niets meer en de lamp van de harde schijf brandt continue. Uitzetten werkt dan niet meer, alleen reset.
3. Ik heb adaware gedraaid en op virussen gescand. Niks gevonden.
4. Er zijn geen nieuwe aparaten geïnstalleerd alleen een Hp scanner van het systeem weggehaald.

Nadat hij is vastgelopen heb ik gemerkt dat er op de harde schijf 2 nieuwe files zijn verschenen op de tijd dat die vastloper was.

Mij zegt dat overigens helemaal niets.

Wie kan mij helpen en me vertellen wat te doen??

Als je bij google Hiberfile intikt dan merk ik dat dit te maken heeft met de stand by van het systeem. Daar zou je toch wat info moeten vinden.

Pagefile.sys is the Windows page file, and you need it, although with 448MB of RAM you may be able to reduce its size somewhat; you might try 256MB for a start and see how that works for you.

Hiberfile.sys is the file used for system hibernation. It's the same size as your RAM. If you don't use the hibernation feature, you can get rid of it. But don't just delete it; turn off hibernation in Control Panel | Power Options | Hibernate.

Nog iets :
hiberfil.sys is the hibernation suspend file. The purpose of that file is to store the contents of the RAM when you put the machine into hibernate mode. Prior to reinstalling XP, you may not have had the hibernation support enabled. You can disable it and thus reclaim the disk space by going into the power management utility in the control panel, and disabling hibernation support.

The "pagefile.sys" is the windows swapfile, and should have always been there, (although the size may have varied greatly) unless you had disabled virtual memory altogether prior to reinstalling, or had previously set windows to hide hidden, and system files, in which case you probably would have never noticed either one of the files you mentioned, as they are both system files. You can disable the hibernation of you don't use that feature, but I wouldn't advise disabling virtual memory. Leave that as-is.

dank jullie voor de snelle reactie.

Ik heb inderdaad die hibernation uit kunnen schakelen. Eens kijken of dit iets brengt.
De rest van de info moet ik straks eens rustig doorlezen als ik wat meer tijd heb.

Ik geloof dat hij nu wel wat stabieler is, maar helemaal jopper is hij niet.
Zal maar gewoon weer eens opnieuw de zaak instaleren, dat zal wel helpen.
