Restore Back up outlook express

Hallo,

Ik maak gebruik van het outlook express 5/6 back up programma.

Nu heb ik de back up van outlook express die ik heb gemaakt op cd rom gezet.

Daarna heb ik alles van mijn computer gehaald (inclusief besturingssysteem) en er opnieuw opgezet.

Heel graag zou ik ook mijn back up van mijn outlook express mailtjes weer terugzetten, maar het lukt niet.

Ik heb hieronder een stukje gevonden over wat te doen, maar ik snap niet wat ik moet doen.

Heel graag wat hulp.

How do I back up my files and settings?
To backup and restore OE5 messages, make a copy of all the files in the folder that contains the dbx files. Do a search for *.wab and back that up as well (address book). Also export these 4 registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Where GUID represents your Identity number.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Account Manager

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\Wab File Name


To restore the messages on a reformatted machine, or to move them to a new machine, copy all the backed-up files to the exact directory where they were located in their previous life. Then, before opening OE, import the 4 keys into the registry. If OE has already been run on the computer to which you are restoring, then delete those 4 keys from the registry (back it up first) before importing the 4 saved ones.

To backup and restore a single OE5 mail folder, save the appropriate dbx file. To restore, create a new folder in OE5 (call it archiv1, for example) and access it once. Then close OE and find archiv1.dbx and delete it. Make a copy of the folder you want to restore and rename it to archiv1.dbx. Then copy that file into the directory where the previous file was deleted. Open OE and the messages you wanted to restore will be accessible via opening that archiv1 folder.

Dit is waar jou postvak-in enz opgeslagen staat, deze bestanden (*.dbx) kun je dus bewaren en later vervangen zodat je mail bewaard blijft.

Dit zijn register instellingen die je schijnbaar kunt vervangen.
Je moet dus wel verstand van de register-editor hebben.
De eerste beschrijving is wel handig voor het backuppen van je postvakken voor de rest zou ik je kunnen aanraden om de volgende keer gewoon je adresboek, newsaccounts ed te exporteren, deze optie zit ook gewoon in Outlook Express.

Vraagje: als je bovenstaande niet snapt hoe heb je het dan voorelkaar gekregen om een backup te maken?

Hoi,

Ik heb een back up gemaakt met het programma Outlook Express Quick Backup.

Hiermee geef je een locatie op je computer aan waar je je back up wil maken en als je je back up terug wil zetten kies je voor restore backup.

Nou heb ik de gemaakte back up op een cdrom gezet en daarna m'n hele computer leeggehaald en alles er weer opgezet.

Nou wil ik ook mijn opgeslagen e-mails van Outlook Express weer teruggezetten (ik heb hetzelfde programmaatje geinstalleerd), maar dat lukt me niet.

Nou las ik de info in voorgaand bericht ergens op het internet, maar ik word er niet veel wijzer van.

Heel graag wat hulp.

Okee toch bedankt.

Weet je misschien waar ik de folder kan vinden dat de dbx bestanden bevat?
Ik werk met windows XP.

Ik heb al gezocht naar dbx, maar de zoekactie levert geen resultaten op. In windows 98 (mijn vorige besturingssysteem) kon ik op extensie zoeken, maar ik weet niet of en waar dat kan in windows XP.

Ga in outlook naar extra =>opties =>onderhoud en klik op archiefmap, hier staat het pad waar jouw dbx bestanden staan.

Zet desnoods onder mapopties "verborgen bestanden weergeven" even aan.

Het is gelukt. Ik heb mijn bestanden die ik had gebacked uped naar de map gesleept die in het pad aangegeven stond.
