1.1 Windows 98, ME or SE with a 32 MB 3D card
Proposed solution:
1 - open splintercell.ini (see section 4.0 for instructions)
2 - find the line : FullscreenViewportX=640
3 - replace this line by : FullscreenViewportX=800
4 - find the line : FullscreenViewportY=480

6 - find the line : StartupFullscreen=True
7 - replace this line by : StartupFullscreen=False
8 - find the line : WindowedViewportX=640 and line WindowedViewportY=480. Make sure that the resolution is standard: example 640 X 480, 1024 X 768, etc.
9 - save and close
10 - set you desktop resolution to 800 x 600 or lower (Control Panel / Display / settings)

3.0- I can play the demo, but I’ve encountered random crashes
This is not the final game and random problems may occur when using this demo. Memory allocation is not optimized.
Proposed solutions:
- if you switch too often between thermal, normal and night vision, a crash will occur
- reduce the shadow resolution into the graphic settings of the demo’s menu
- reduce the resolution into the graphic setting of the demo’s menu
4.0- How to modify Splintercell.ini file
1 - On your local hard drive. Select the following path:
Program Files/Ubi Soft Entertainment/Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Demo/SYSTEM
2 - double click on SplinterCell.ini or open it with a common text editor (ex: notepad)
3 - find the line you need to modify
4 - don’t forget to save Splintercell.ini file before you quit.
