I am having the exactly same issues in the past few months ... I believe it has to do with windows 8.1 auto update as well. I re-installed to manufacture setting and then touch screen worked again. Then windows auto update, touch screen stopped working again. Repetitive cycles, it only seems that Dell does not intend to fix this issues at all. The last driver patch file was from last year .... they never update it ... I remember my first Dell Intel4 PC purchased in college; it was flawed with driver problems through out my 4 years in college; completely wasted my parent$1700, it was ten years ago ... I cannot understand how my Mac user wife make me buy another dell again (because I told her I am a PC person?) ... my final solution might be ... 1.) stop calling Dell tech support, those people probably don't even have high school diploma, 2.) switch to Mac and never use a PC again ... 3.) oh, I am selling my Dell stocks too .... stop wasting our lives on finding a solution for this ... how much time did YOU spend on this problems so far???
