DoS = Denial of Service. Een beruchte methode om een server door een bombardement van berichten, verzoeken, enz. in een staat te brengen dat hij zijn diensten niet meer kan leveren. Dat nummer zal het IP-adres van jouw Local Host zijn (of ingebouwd in je firewall). Door vermeende DoS-aanvallen daar naar af te buigen, worden ze onschadelijk gemaakt. Je firewall heeft dus een verdediging tegen zo'n DoS-aanval ingebouwd. Maar dat wil niet zeggen dat je serieus in gevaar bent geweest: over het Internet vliegen tienduizenden verzoekjes heen en weer tussen servers, bijvoorbeeld Ping-requests. Kortom, niets aan de hand, je firewall doet zijn werk.
