Moviethump.dll bordje door je picasa heen?
Heel veel meldingen op het internet hierover te zien,
maar wat is nu de oplossing,
het opnieuw installeren van Windows moviemaker helpt ook al niet.

enige info gevonden op het net

Picasa has been my favourite photo application since it became
available.
However, I recently bought a new desktop PC, and installed Picasa
2.7.36.60, and now it's the worst program on my computer. I'm a
digital photo nut, and counted on Picasa, which has always run
perfectly on my old Pentium 4, 1GHz, 256Mb RAM system.

Here's the problem:

Google's Desktop System Monitor Gadget shows that just opening Picasa,
without running other software or doing anything else within Picasa at
all, takes RAM usage straight up to 99%, while the processor is only
using 2% of its capacity. Disk activity is low, and zero Network
activity.
The whole system slows down to a crawl, and the PC becomes
unresponsive.
Then Windows XP starts to complain about Virtual Memory, and
automatically increases it. It's well over the recommended 1.5 times
RAM, so there shouldn't be a problem.
Even AFTER closing Picasa, RAM usage stays at 99% for quite a while,
and CPU usage will suddenly hike up to 100% and then drop back.

AFTER exiting Picasa, Windows Task Manager shows a Picasa process
(sometimes 2 instances) called "moviethumb.exe" that starts off at
about 385 Kb and then grows as you watch it!! It continues to grow
until all the 1 GB of RAM is used up, and then I have to kill the
process to get back control of the computer. I repeat, this happens
AFTER closing Picasa!

I'm running the following on my new system:
Intel Core(TM)2 CPU dual processor x 4300 @ 1.80 GHz
1.00 GB Ram
Virtual Memory 2,840 MB
Hard disk free space 126 GB.

Everything else on the PC runs like lightning, and I've had no other
system-related problems at all.

I would hate to abandon Picasa. Any suggestions about what's wrong
here?
Thanks to anyone interested enough to help.

Hi,

A big fan of picasa and suddenly over the weekend I also experienced
the same problem and I think I know the problem. This is because
before I didn't download bit torrent and over the weekend I did. What
picasa is doing is that it is picking avi files on your computer. You
need to go to Tools - Options - File types and uncheck the avi file
format.
After that you should be fine.

Regards
Gabriel

Het bovenstaande dus al geprobeerd?

Dit is de juiste oplossing
