Hallo allemaal,

Ik heb twee geheugenkaartjes van 1gig
De ene kaart is een PC3200 de andere kaart is een PC2100.

Wat is verstandig?

Alleen de kaart met de PC3200 plaatsen of zou ik beide kaarten in de pc stoppen zo dat ik 2gig geheugen heb.
Wat is het beste en het snelst?

J, dat zou ik ook zeggen maar de snelle kaart past wel zijn snelheid aan aan de trage kaart.
Oftewel beide kaarten gaan draaien op 2100 i.p.v. 3200
 
Oh, vreemd kan het niet zijn dat het verschillende merken zijn en dat ze elkaar gaan tegenwerken.

Nee het zijn beide van kingston.
Maar na mijn weten pakt de pc altijd de laagste snelheid.

Maar misschien komen er nog meer interessante antwoorden over wat ik het beste kan doen:)
 
Inderdaad gaan ze allebei werken met de snelheid van de langzame PC2100.

belangrijke vraag is welke processor je gebruikt. Als die namelijk ook op 266Mhz loopt (gelijk aan PC2100), is het dus sowieso geen probleem!

Everest zegt: CPU Type Intel Pentium 4, 2433 MHz (18 x 135)
Wat kan ik nu het beste doen?
Beide laten draaien en kiezen voor de langzame snelheid, of de langzame eruit halen en dan maar kiezen voor 1gig geheugen maar dan is de geheugensnelheid wel sneller.

Wat zouden jullie doen
 
Dat (18 x 135) betekent dat de cpu in de praktijk op 266Mhz loopt, dus gewoon allebei de geheugenreepjes erin!

En sommige programma's slaan vast en moet ik een harde reset uitvoeren.
Moet ik dan iets in de bios veranderen?

Ik heb het langzame reepje er even uit gehaald om te kijken of het beter gaat

Hmm, nu is het weer stabiel. (met één reepje)
Erg vreemd.
Zouden de twee reepjes dan toch met elkaar in conflict komen?

I am currently running one 256MB PC2100 module in my ECS K7S5A, and I need
more memory. I have a brand new 512MB module of PC3200 sitting on my desk.
Can I run both simultaneously? I'm okay with the fact that the PC3200 will
run at PC2100 speed (if that is the answer).

Yes, if you stick the PC 3200 RAM in with the 2100, it will only run
at the 2100 speed.

i also currently have a 3200 and a 2700 stick running in the same machine.
one thing I have not done (and wonder if anyone else has?) is to do some
benchmark testing as to whether I might be better off just running the 3200
by itself?

in theory, i should be running 1GB at the slower speed (2700). can anyone
show that fact is different than theory here?

Your computer cannot speed up just because you put faster memory in it. How
can you be better off just running the 3200? Install as much memory as you
can.

anyone else had actually benchmarked a similar circumstance?

Het zou kunnen dat je de twee modulus gebruikt MITS de cas latency hetzelfde is van beide modules.
in jouw geval dus niet,want de pc begint onmiddellijk raar te doen als je de twee modules gebruikt.
Waarschijnlijk heeft de ene de CL van 2.5 en de andere de CL van 3.
Het moederbord kan omgaan met maar een cas lantecy.
Ik zou dus de PC 3200 gebruiken.
