Hallo,
Hello there,
My name is Danny and I am 24 years old and from The Netherlands. Sorry in advance for my bad english
I am a new listener to the podcast and am a great fan of all the things u do.. I was listening to the podcast and got curious about my recently bought laptop, a Acer Aspire 8930G-734G32Bn (Ofcourse I rather would have bought a Mobius but du budget issues and where I live this wasn't the case) I looked at this laptop with the huge HD screen and fell in love with it instandly.. Now there are some things I would like to know about this laptop and I couldn't find answers on it on the internet so I thought lets try it here
First of, my opinion is that there are almost no websites that helps u to make your laptop or desktop in that mather a optimal gaming rig.
I use my laptop mainly for playing World of Warcraft so keep that in mind
I play WoW on full screen mode with all the sliders up exept for the Ground Cluter one at full resolution ( 1920 x 1080 pixels ). I love addons and I am useing alot of them. ( Mainly Blacksen UI with questhelper and some more stuff) My framerate overal is around 30 to 50 in old world and in Northrend around 15 to 20..
Here are some questions I would love some help with..
Question 1:
I would like to know if I could go and put a 64 bit version of Vista on my laptop instead of the 32 bit version, and the reason I ask this is that I dont fully use my 4 gigs of ram.. Is this an upgrade or not??? If it is, can I put a normal vesion of Vista 64 bit on this laptop or does acer software stuff interfere with that? ( I got Vista Home Premium 32 bit now )
Question two:
I am useing Gamebooster when I play to turn of all the programs I dont need whyle I play WoW. I also keep my harddisk clean with Smart Defrag ( All in the program Advanced SystemCare Professional ) Are there more programs I could use or maybe beter ones to keep my system performance up.
Question three:
I know there is this overclocking but I never used it on any of my machines. Mainly because I am afraid I burn down my system :S . My question is how do I overclock my laptop so I get the maximum performance out of it without risking killing the machine? I mean wich program should I use and how and how far can I crank it all up?
I know its asking alot but any help would be very nice.
The thing is I want it all to be even better and smoother than it is so if these questions are even bad, I hope anyone could help me with this mather..
Thanks all in advance and I hope there are some people who could help me..
