Movie Maker Foutmelding

Hallo,
Ik wil een filmpje samenstellen, maar als ik een filmpje van avi bestand upload krijg ik deze foutmelding.

The file C:\Documents and Settings\Yannick\Bureaublad\Nieuwe map\P1030098_1.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

Wat moet ik eraan doen dat het wel doet???

Ik ken MM zelf niet, maar afgaande op de melding ontbreekt er iets..
Je moet eens kijken hoe je extra codecs kunt installeren in MM. De codec die de juiste "vertaalslag" maakt naar AVI bestanden werd kennelijk niet meegeleverd, ik vermoed dat MS alleen zijn eigen codecs meelevert, bv WMF.

Ik vond dit op een (engels) forum:

Download a program called : Gspot. This is a program that will identify the codec you need.
Once its downloaded open the file.
It will come up with a box with millions of blank spaces saying : Path, size, etc.
Go to the top and click file, open the file that you ripped from the CD. Then go to the bottom and press render.
It may say Rendering Failed.
THAT IS OKAY.

Look at the top right of the box. It should say Codec, then underneath 4CC. The number beside it identifies the codec you need.
Type in Codec ____ (the number) into google, and download the codec.
Then it should work on windows movie maker.

I know it seems complicated, but it’s actually quite easy.
I looked for days before I found this method, but it works. For some reason though after I load the video on movie maker, for previewing it plays the clips upside down. But when you drag the clips onto the track it works fine lol. I hope this helps Good Luck!!!
