PC start niet meer op (enkel melding: Checking nvRAM)

Als ik mijn computer opstart, krijg ik vrijwel onmiddellijk de melding "checking nvRAM", waarna hij verder niet meer reageert. Het lichtje van de harde schijf blijft wel continu branden. Ik heb hem al terug naar de winkel gedaan, en daar denken ze dat het aan het moederbord ligt, omdat ze alle andere onderdelen al vervangen hebben. Mss dat iemand mij hier kan helpen?

Tja, dan lijkt 't me wel redelijk duidelijk: het moederbord. Ik zie niet in wat wij daar aan kunnen toevoegen

NVRAM = Nonvolatile RAM (or the CMOS memory)

Sounds like a problem with your CMOS settings/chip.
Clear your CMOS by changing the jumper settings, check your manual for information on how to do this. If you can't clear your CMOS information for some reason using the jumper method then remove the battery, for a couple of hours. Some PC's have capacitors that can power the memory for 30mins+ (perhaps this may have been why changing your battery did nothing)

Once you're sure it's been out long enough put it back in and power up. Go into the BIOS and make any changes you need, save and exit. If you're still getting the error you'll probably need a new board as the CMOS chip is soldered onto your board.

But before you buy a new board just make sure absolutely everything is pluged into the right slots, even try swapping things like the RAM and graphics card with another if you have access to spares, just to make sure the problem isn't a hardware conflict between your board and hardware
