SL (Second Life)

Ik zit nu met een (Alweer) probleem.
Ik was een beetje aan het rondneuzen, en wou uit saaiheid even Second Life proberen!

Recommanded:
Internet Connection: Cable or DSL
Computer Processor: 1.6GHz Pentium 4 or Athlon 2000+ or better
Computer Memory: 512MB or better
Video/Graphics Card:
nVidia GeForce FX 5600, GeForce 6600, or better
OR ATI Radeon 9600, X600, or better

Ik heb:
Internet Connection: Cable or DSL
Computer Processor: 2.66GHz Pentium 4
Computer Memory: 2048MB
Video/Graphics Card: GeForce 7600GS

Vervolgens krijg ik echter dit bericht:
Your video card appears to be a GDI Generic, which Second Life does not support.

Second Life requires a video card with 32 Mb of memory or more, as well as
multitexture support. We explicitly support nVidia GeForce 2 or better,
and ATI Radeon 8500 or better.

er val weinig aan te doen je video kaart woord niet ondersteunt.
je zal een bettere moeten aanschafen indien de pc dit toe laat.

er word gevraagd een GF5600/6600 of beter, hij heeft 7600 nou ben ik niet 100% thuis in videokaarten kwa snelheid en welke is beter dan welke maar een 7600 lijkt mij onder de catagorie "Or better" te vallen.

lijkt me dus eerder een driver probleem of iets waar ze je op het SL forum waarschijnlijk meer over kunnen vertellen

Answer:

The first step is to verify that your graphics card is compatible with Second Life.

If your card is one of the listed compatible graphics cards, make sure you have the latest graphics drivers installed.

If you have installed drivers from a company other than ATI or nVidia (such as ASUS Drivers or utilities), try uninstalling them and use the nVidia/ATI drivers instead.

If your card is compatible, and your drivers are current, there's a chance that the display's Troubleshooting slider (within Windows) is turned down too far.
Make sure the display Troubleshooting slider is set correctly with the following steps:

1) Right-click any empty space on your desktop and choose Properties.
1) OR, open the Control Panel, then open Display.
2) Click on the Settings tab.
3) Click on the Advanced button.
4) Click on the Troubleshoot tab.
5) The Troubleshoot slider should be all the way to the right. If it is not, slide it all the way to the right, click OK, then restart your computer.

Ik probeerde even bij Troubleshoot te kijken, maar er staat:

Your current display driver does not allow changes to be made to hardcore acceleration settings.

(Dit is op Windows Vista Ultimate)

Misschien dat vista het probleem veroorzaakt, maar dat kan ik niet controleren.

Maak jij gebruik van de Vista drivers of de NVIDiA dirvers voor Vista? (zijn die er uberhaupt???)

Mijn videokaart heeft gewoon de nieuwste drivers, maar die zullen waarschijnlijk niet optimaal zijn voor Vista :\
