HDMI ARC = Audio Return Channel (ARC) – De televisie kan straks audiosignalen terugsturen naar een ontvanger om dit geluid te laten afspelen. Dit is vooral erg handig wanneer er gebruikgemaakt wordt van een analoge tuner in de televisie. Normaal gesproken zou er dan een kabel terug moeten gelegd worden naar de ontvanger om de audio via de ontvanger te laten lopen naar de geluidsboxen. Ook nu kan alles weer door één enkele kabel.

HDMI DV = is a compact audio/video interface for transferring uncompressed video data and compressed/uncompressed digital audio data from a HDMI-compliant device ("the source device") to a compatible computer monitor, video projector, digital television, or digital audio device.[1] HDMI is a digital replacement for existing analog video standards.
