vervanging win95/98 Virt.PC

Op m'n IMac 160/333 draai ik Windows 95 op VPC 2.1,gaat prima maar nu wil daar Windows 98 op zetten omdat sommige progamma's dat vereist. Als ik dat wil installeren krijg tijdens de Set Up de melding (SU 0168) dat op deze computer een besturingssysteem is geinstalleerd dat niet door deze versie van Set Up kan worden vernieuwd. Ik moet zorgen voor een "Windows 98 Upgrade".

Is er iemand die dit voorval ook eens aan de hand heeft gehad, en zo ja,is er een oplossing voor? Of moet ik op een andere manier "98" erop zetten?
Alle tips zijn welkom, alvast bedankt, Peter.

Upgrade 95 to 98 with full verison CD

1) boot with a windows 98 startup diskette, choose cd-rom support (download one,
if you don't have one. it's a self-extracting executable. just pop formatted, empty
diskette into the drive and have it extract to a

2) at the a: prompt, enter:

ren c:\windows\win.com win.old

3) pop in the 98 install disc and switch to the cd-rom drive (usually e: e:

4) run setup: setup

Also.....
Consider a backup of old system:

The installation should ask if you want to make a backup of your old system. If you
have room on your hard drive, it's a good idea do it. There have been a couple times
that I had to use it, and believe me, it was a lifesaver.

If your new system works out OK after a period of time, then the backup can be uninstalled
from the add/remove panel. Do not delete it from C:\. If necessary, a recovery can
also be made from there.
