Dag mensen,

Ik heb een tijdje terug een desktop gekocht bij de Media Markt. Die was op dat moment voldoende maar tegenwoordig speel ik de nieuwste games, en daar heeft de videokaart moeite mee. Ik moet de meeste spellen op Low settings spelen en soms is hij zelfs daarop vreselijk haperend. Ik zou graag een videokaart willen hebben die spellen als Shogun 2, Battlefield 3, etc. op max settings aan kan zonder lagg. Maar kan dat wel?

1) Ik heb de standaard HP pavillion kast. Past daar wel een grotere videokaart in? En als het past, moeten er ook andere dingen vervangen worden om de videokaart te laten werken? Is het niet gewoon slimmer om een nieuwe pc te kopen? Wat mij betreft niet, aan de harde schijft etc. ontbreekt niks, en hij werkt nog perfect, op gamen na. Rode lijn van deze vraag is: Kan deze standaard pc een nieuwe/betere videokaart krijgen?

2) Zoals jullie ook in de dxdiag kunnen zien heb ik een vrij normaal beeldscherm. Als ik een nieuwe videokaart zou nemen, is het dan slim om ook een nieuw beeldscherm te kopen. Deze kan maar op 1680x1050. En als dit het beste zal zijn. Hebben jullie een aanrader? Prijs maakt niet veel uit als het maar niet absurd hoog is.

3) Als ik dan een nieuwe videokaart kan hebben, welke zouden jullie mij aanraden. Zoals jullie zien heb ik nu een GeForce GT 530 2GB en op de officiele site is hij ook al bijna alle support verdwenen. Zelfde geval hier. Prijs maakt niet veel uit, gaat me meer om de prestaties. Ik wil gewoon een pc die nieuwe games op hoge settings aankan.

4) Omdat ik nog nooit ook maar iets heb vervangen in de computer heb ik geen idee hoe het moet. Zou ik het best kunnen laten doen door een winkel of iets?

Moet je dan nog andere dingen vervangen? 99% van de gevallen wel; de voeding is bijna nooit berekend in OEM systemen op een sterkere videokaart. Dus de voeding zal bijna met zekerheid ook vervangen moeten worden.
Moet ik heel de pc vervangen? Wat mij betreft niet, de rest van de onderdelen zijn nog prima voor de snelste videokaarten te kunnen bijhouden. Alleen zal je, zoals al eerder opgemerkt, je voeding hoogstwaarschijnlijk moeten vervangen. Tip voor de volgende pc: koop geen kant en klare pc als je een echte game pc wil, dan heb je dit soort geneuzel niet meer achteraf.

2) Nee hoor, geen nieuw scherm nodig tenzij je zelf vindt dat je pixels tekort komt. Op 1680x1050 kan je in ieder geval prima gamen, iets wat op 1240x1024 ook gewoon kan. Je zou enkel een nieuw scherm nodig hebben als je vindt dat je niet genoeg pictogrammen/niet genoeg tekst/etc. tegelijkertijd op je scherm kunt zien.

3) Hangt af hoeveel ruimte je hebt in de behuizing en belangrijker: het budget. Je hebt namelijk videokaarten tot 1000 euro (wat overigens zonde is van je geld naar mijn mening), maar met bijvoorbeeld een videokaart van rond de 250 euro trek je ook gewoon alle huidige games op high-ultra. Overigens is de ondersteuning van je 530 nog niet weggevallen hoor, je zal de nieuwste drivers enkel moeten downloaden vanaf de website van Nvidia ipv de site van HP (OEM's lopen namelijk altijd achter qua ondersteuning met drivers, dus kan je beter bij de bron de nieuwste drivers pakken).

4) Je kan het laten doen door een winkel, maar dat kost je natuurlijk extra geld (plus het feit dat de winkels die het doen, dezelfde videokaart voor een hogere prijs verkopen). Wat natuurlijk goedkoper is, is samen met iemand die verstand heeft van pc's de videokaart verwisselen. Erg moeilijk is het niet, maar je moet wel verstand van zaken hebben aangezien je in het ergste geval je computer kunt slopen!

Hij is toch nog niet al te klein. Ik heb wel een vriend die weet hoe hij videokaarten moet vervangen, maar is een voeding vervangen ook te doen? Ik zal het nog even navragen. Als een prijs rond de 250 al goed genoeg is zou dat top zijn. Enige specifieke suggesties?

Op de voeding staat MAX POWER 460W trouwens. Ik denk dat dit te weinig is?

(Ik zag de GeForce GTX 660 Ti. Is dat bijv. iets?)

Denk wel dat je kast het gaat redden al passen er geen hele grote kaarten in maar dan moet je echt aan kaarten met een triple fan denken, of meerdere kaarten in SLI of Crossfire opstelling.
 
Nee, die 0 moet daar niet weg, gewoon 1000.

Meten is weten, en daar moet je behuizing voor open helaas. De 660ti is een prima kaart voor de huidige games, maar er is ook een AMD alternatief. Beide zijn nog vrij groot, dus eerst even meten voor de zekerheid ;)
 
Ik denk dat de GTX 660 Ti wel wat is voor je, of inderdaad de AMD Radeon HD 7950. Deze kunnen de nieuwste games wel op ultra-settings spelen met aanvaardbare FPS. Ik kan Far Cry 3 spelen op ultra met mijn 560 (overclocked) ti op 50 FPS. Deze kaarten gaan wel passen in jouw kast. Ik heb zelf een GTX 560 Ti in een normale Dell-kast gemonteerd incl. nieuwe voeding. Dat ging prima, hoor!
