Step 1 Download Resources
Step 2 Preparing the files for your HD
1st things 1st!
Preparing the Partition folders to extract them later on to your Xbox. In the Netherlands we always say: A good start, is half the job.
- Extract ms-dash-mik3h.rar file to your Desktop
- Place the folders "Partition 3" and "Partition 4" to your Desktop
- Delete the folder wicht contained these folders (the folder from the ms-dash-mik3h.rar, should be empty now!)
- Extract the "XBMC" and "tools" folder from the XBMC_T3CHM_("Build").zip file to your Desktop
- Delete de XBMC.iso and the XboxNesEmusandRoms.iso. Both are to be found in the Partition 4\games Folder.
- Create the folder "Apps" in the root folder of Partition 4 Partition 4\Apps
- Move the folders "Partition 4\games\dvd2xbox" and "Partition 4\games\NTSC-PAL" to the folder Partition 4\Apps
- Rename "Partition 4\games" folder to "Games". Just give it a Capital "G".
- Rename the "xboxdash.xbe" to "oldxboxdash.xbe"
*Note: This is the backup you can you when replacing the file won't work. Then delete the replacing "xboxdash.xbe" (you put this file here in the next step and rename) "oldxboxdash.xbe" back to "xboxdash.xbe"
- In the "tools" folder on your desktop you will find 3 files, delete the "Team UIX.xbe" Rename the .xbe file to "xboxdash.xbe" And the .cfg file to "xboxdash.cfg".
- Make sure the "xboxdash.cfg" file contains the following text:
E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe
- Place both files in the Root Folder of "Partition 3"
Now you will Have 2 folders on you Desktop called "Partition 3" and "Partition 4" This is the Structure you will have there
Partition Structure:
- Desktop
- "Partition 3"
- bios
- media
- rescuedash
- xodash
- oldxboxdash.xbe
- shadowc.img
- Xbox Book.xtf
- Xbox.xtf
- xboxdash.xbe
- xboxdash.cfg
- "Partition 4"
- Apps
- Backup
- Cache
- Games
- TDATA
- UDATA
- evox.cfg
- exoxdash.xbe
- sid4hd.bin
Step 3 Preparing the "Hot Swap"
PC
- Copy the folders "Partition 3" and "Partition 4" to the desktop of your Swap PC. Unless they are allready there off course.
- Make sure you can use Xplorer360 on this computer. You might find yourself in the need of an DLL. Download and instal the missing dll to your "C:\Windows\system" folder. google is your best friend!
- Try to pause the start up of your computer by pressing the "Pause-Break" key on your keyboard. You should pause the startup when the first screen you see is halfway loading. Almost right away after pushing the button. This is to test whether your computer will start up when you perform the "Hot Swap". Compare both situations.
- Open up your PC and don't touch anything except the second IDE-Cable. This usually is connected to you CD/DVD-drive or Floppy-drive. Do not touch the IDE-cable running to you computers hard drive!
- Disconnect the second IDE-cable from all drives and make sure you can reach your Xbox HD with this cable. The second IDE-cable should only be attached to the PC's motherbord now.
Xbox
- Remove the top cover of the xbox using the gear and instructions you will find on your best friend (yes google)
- Make sure you can remove you're IDE-cable from your Xbox HD. Don't remove it yet! Don't try this when the xbox power cable is connected first!
- Connect the power cable to your Xbox
- Connect your Xbox to your television and try to find out when you're Xbox stops functioning like normal (when it goes to service screen) This will propably be a matter of seconds. Leave it powered off for now
4 "Hot Swap"
Make sure you have this:
PC
- Customized folders "Partition 3" & "Partition 4"
- Working Xplorer360
- Second IDE-cable only attached to the motherboard
Xbox
- Top cover removed
- Hard Drive connected (IDE cable and power supply)
1 Start up your PC and pause the start up right away. Leave it here for now
2 Start up your Xbox and remove the IDE-cable just before it goes to service screen or black screen
*Note: Do not remove the power supply of the HD! Leave the HD powered by the Xbox
3 Connect the loose end of the PC's second IDE-cable to you Xbox Hard Drive
4 Press any key on your PC's keyboard to resume the startup of the PC
5 Check whether the PC starts up normal. If not reconnect the Xbox HD to your Xbox, power everything off and start with "1" of step 4
6 Launch Xplorer360
7 Back up you Partition 3 on the Xbox!
8 Delete all files on your Xbox his Partition 3 and 4. Partition 1 and 2 should be empty allready.
9 This step is obvious, Copy the Content off the costumized "Partition 3" folder on your Desktop to your Partition 3 on your Xbox
10 This step is obvious, Copy the Content off the costumized "Partition 4" folder on your Desktop to your Partition 4 on your Xbox
*Note: Make sure you don't copy the entire partition 3 folder to the partition cause you will get this XboxHD\Partition 3\Partition 3\xboxdash.xbe
While it should be XboxHD\Partition 3\xboxdash.xbe
11 When you are ready with this make sure the partitions are sorted properly according to the "Partition Structure"
12 Close Xplorer360
13 Disconnect the second PC IDE-cable from your Xbox Hard Drive
14 Reconnect your Xbox HD to you Xbox
15 Power off your Xbox and start it up again
Behold! Your nostalgic piece off crap still worth diamonds in your eyes working his ass off for amazing graphics and cheap Back-up Games.
I hope it works for you!
