Behalve het bovenstaande, vond ik ook een bericht van een scannerbezitter die een Vista driver voor een andere scanner van HP heeft gebruikt. Ook hier geen knoppen functionaliteit maar de HP 4470C werkt er wél mee.

Hi. I have the 4470c, I have Vista Home Premium.
I got my 4470c to work with the 4850 scanner software/driver for Vista available here at HP. Although the buttons on the scanner no longer function, you can still use the HP Precisionscan softwware thats installed to start scans within that, or from within other programs where you can scan from it.
Additionaly, I am not entirely certain, but with the 4470c in XP the driver (circa 2002) sort of did the same thing for a few years, no button functionality, so they released an update here at HP a few years back for the XP driver to fix that. I do believe thats how I managed to scan ok in XP all these years. It looks like a same update for Vista that needs a similar update to bring full functionality to the scan buttons....or a vista driver for all the scanners that are were introduced and sold during the XP era at least!

I installed it again using the xp driver , it installed ok,it would not work with the buttons and the options like start new scan for the left side column, but when i tried it from the top menu everything worked as before and i sucsessfully did a scan and copy, well at least it is still usable and i don't have to trow it away.

De vragensteller bedoeld waarschijnlijk niet "using the XP driver" maar "using the Vista driver."
Dit is trouwens van het HP forum over jou scanner.
